There is a difference between being "smart" and being "facile". The neocon cabal - Wolfowitz, Feith, Rumsfeld et al - were all proclaimed geniuses by their publicists. But none of them were very smart. Take Douglas Feith for example, otherwise known as the "undersecretary of state for fiascos." Amost every decision he made, or policy he recommended, ended up in disaster. General Tommy Franks, quoted in Bob Woodward's Plan of Attack, calls Feith "the fucking stupidest guy on the face of the earth." Based on the easily ascertainable record, this conclusion is hard to avoid.

It is pretty much established that Michigan is the best state in the union to live. https://www.thrillist.com/travel/nation/ranking-the-united-states-of-america-from-best-to-worst. Any doubters should take a few days and drive up the coast of Lake Michigan from St. Joe to Mackinac. It is a breathtaking trip. Incredible beaches, wonderful resort towns, vineyards and fruit orchards, quaint fishing villages, art communities, bountiful farmland.
